Monthly Homeschooling Series: 3rd Month Of Homeschooling.

3 months of homeschooling and we're almost done with kinder2 curriculum. Check out how our 3rd month of homeschooling went by.

September was the slowest month for us. But still a productive month for us somehow. So let me take you along to our 3rd month of homeschooling.

I'm barely holding it all together. It was a tiring month for me physically, emotionally, and mentally. Because of everything that is happening around me, anxiety attacks here and there. Every day is a battle. And I knew I had to take a break digitally to cope up.

You see, being the only parent for your child is not the easiest especially when you're having a hard time dealing with yourself. But you have no one to turn to so you have no choice but to be strong and pull yourself together for your child. So let's all try to be kind especially in difficult times like this because we don't know everyone's battle.

3rd Month Of Homeschooling

It's only our 3rd month of homeschooling and we're now covering topics for the 3rd and 4th quarter. We're almost at the end of the kinder2 curriculum way faster than I expected. I'm impressed with Zoe's progress and I'm planning to slowly start covering topics for Grade 1 after we finish all the topics from our Homeschool Provider.

One of the advantages of homeschooling is that you and your child works at your own pace. I'm looking forward to finishing up our curriculum so we can add more subjects. There's still a lot of things that Zoe is curious about so we're excited to explore more.

English

For this month, we're able to finish Unit 1 of The Good And The Beautiful Level 1 of Language and Arts. Check them out for more free curriculum. At 5 years old, Zoe is now really good at reading and it makes me happy to see her loving books so much. Such a joy to raise a little reader.

We also talked about Nouns, Verbs, and Adjectives in depth. And almost done with the English curriculum for Kinder 2.

Math

For math, this month we focused on addition and subtraction. Tried different techniques and method. And I can finally say that I found the one that Zoe loves. She's loving her abacus more than anything. Everyday I let her do some drills with the abacus so she can practice and she's trying to do mental math. The curious kid in her is really amazed that she can do 4 digits addition and subtraction with the use of an Abacus. My next goal is to teach her multiplication and division with the use of an abacus and will finish the rest of the topics in her curriculum.

Science

It's all about animals this month for Science. We talked about the body parts, coverings, invertebrates and vertebrates, habitats, and what they eat.

She got a green thumb too so this month she's busy repotting her cactus and succulent babies.

Filipino

For Filipino we talked about araw sa isang linggo, mga buwan sa loob ng taon, mga bilang at bilang salita.

As we go along with our journey, I find Zoe's learning style differently than when we started. She's becoming more of an auditory and visual learner and less of a kinesthetic learner. If you still don't know what type of learner is your children, answer this quiz

Sibika

This month, we didn't do much about Sibika. Zoe still doesn't find Sibika fun but she loves singing so we did a lot of singing this month. Mga awiting makabayan, Lupang Hinirang, Panatang Makabayan at mga pangulo ng bansa.

How's our 3rd month of homeschooling?

To sum up our 3rd month of homeschooling, honestly, I feel bad and guilty this month. I was not the best Teacher mommy and I have lots of shortcomings. We barely do things within our schedule. But still thankful that we're still on the track. Zoe took her 1st monthly exam for the 2nd quarter yesterday and I'm really happy with the results. Though she's not in the mood to write yesterday she was able to finish 5 exams in one sitting. 3 months down and on the next one.

PIN ME!

But before I end this blog. If you're feeling the same, know that you're not alone. We can't always be the best, but we can always try our best. New month, new week, new day. We got this. Know that for your children no matter what we will always be the best teacher-mommy.

I hope you find this post helpful and inspiring. I wish you a happy and fun homeschooling journey. Don't forget to check out my free worksheets/resources. I'll be back for more. For now, if you find this post helpful I hope you can share it with your family and friends. Stay safe and healthy!

Love,

Mommy Gen.
