Last February, I celebrated my birthday at the beach with the family. I was just scrolling on Facebook and found this hidden gem at Calatagan, Batangas.

We stayed at Calumbuyan point. Check out and follow me on Tiktok for the room tour and more snaps at the beach.

Calumbuyan point is far from the highway and it was a rough road. Good thing we arrived at around 8am. So heads up if you'll be traveling at night. The road is still under construction.

I booked the open cottage when I made a reservation but we changed our accommodation to Ohana cottage and Teepee house. Good thing there were available rooms that day.

The place is nice and the cottages are located on the hilltop. They also have a mini-store and they also serve food.

What we liked at Calumbuyan Point.

  • The place is so relaxing. We really enjoyed the breeze and the sounds of the waves.
  • The common cr was also clean, though they only have 2 cubicles and 1 shower room for girls and boys. Fret not because currently, they are working on expanding the cr.
  • It was not a crowded beach. Maybe because it's still new and we went there on a weekday. We almost had the beach all to ourselves.
  • The rooms were clean but not too spacious especially if you're with a large group.
  • There is also a lifeguard. Zoe and I had the beach all to ourselves the whole afternoon and Kuya lifeguard was watching us from afar.
  • They also offer a kayak, bonfire, and a mini sari-sari store so you can buy some essentials.

Cons

  • They don't have complimentary towels or even toiletries for both rooms that we occupied.
  • If you have kids like mine that love to play on the shoreline, maliit lang yung shoreline unlike sa mga beaches na napuntahan namin sa Calatagan and medyo mabato.
  • If tambay kayo sa beach like us, malayo yung cottage nyo sa mismong beach. Though my 3 open cottage sa baba sa malapit sa beach. Mas okay siguro dito yung Day tour kung beach ang habol.
  • Wala masyado ilaw sa gabi pababa lalo sa hagdan, kaya we opted not to do night swimming na lang kasi delikado bumaba. I hope they will put up more lights sa gabi.
  • Construction is on going, kahit gabi na may nag-gagawa pa din. (We went last February 21, so I'm not sure if may construction pa din.)

Verdict

Will we go here again? Yes, but will not opt to stay overnight so we can enjoy the beach more. Is it #ZGApproved? Yes, we had a great time naman at Calumbuyan point. Madaming Instagram worthy kaya kung awrahan and habol, sulit pa din naman dito and not crowded.

(Sorry, there are not many photos, since I intended not to upload our family pictures for privacy.)
