Happy Breastfeeding Month to all my breast friends! 💪🏻

I've been exclusively breastfeeding my daughter for 6 years and 2 months as we speak. ✨ Guess I deserve a pat on my back. I'm always thankful to be able to nourish my daughter and to give her all the love until the last drop of my breastmilk.

What is breastfeeding like for me?

For me and my daughter, it's all about comfort, love, and bond like no other. Since Zoe turned six years old, I always wonder what if she suddenly decided to wean? Am I ready? I am definitely not. But of course, there are days when I want to have my body back. Yes, I miss my old, sexy self. haha But I always tell myself that I know she can wean anytime right now so I need to treasure every feeding moment with her.

Also since there's almost always a new Covid 19 variant I'm beyond blessed to still produce liquid gold and to pass antibodies to her. Breastfeeding also boosts her immunity and I'm so thankful that my child is very healthy. And since I'm already fully vaccinated, I guess somehow my daughter is protected since I passed some antibodies to her with the help of breastmilk.

When will I wean my daughter?

Honestly, I don't know. It also depends on my daughter, since I want her to wean when she is ready. Right now, she's still as clingy as ever and the breast is still her best friend and her comfort. So for as long as she wants it, she can have it because my body is made to produce milk to nourish her. It's tiring but very worth it!

To all my fellow breastfeeding moms, I salute each and every one of you! You're doing a great job, momma!
No matter how short or long you breastfeed your child.
No matter if you opted to give formula to your child.
Know that we are all equal.
We are all good moms.
